If a writer posts on the Internet, and no one sees it...

I mean, obviously, no, it doesn't make a sound. It's on your monitor. You're reading it. And if your monitor's talking to you, you've got bigger problems and I recommend a visit to www.webmd.com.

But let's just get a few things out of the way. This is the blog of me, Gerry Doyle, journalist, author and fast typer.

I plan to write about writing, how I've done it, how you can do it and how the experts say it's best done. I'll also occasionally post samples from my novel, "From the Depths," which is due out in the fall. And since man cannot live on fiction alone, I'll throw in a few grafs here and there about work, fun, politics and life in general. I'll try to keep it, you know, interesting.

Your comments are welcome, and please check out the links at the bottom of the page. Some good insightful commentary and brainless fun is waiting to be had.

Thanks for stopping by. There's no closing time around here, so come back anytime.

Can I have your autograph? You know me, I'm a sucker for celebrities. :)
